I made it all: long sleeve custom top
Hello readers!
This time I wanted to try to create my first self-designed top. It was all about trying to create what I had in mind without having to buy any pattern which doesn’t correspond exactly to my idea. So I made this top with customised long sleeves.
When I started I wasn’t sure of the result, I never took any lesson to make my own pattern and I use again my now favorite book: “La coupe à plat nº1, Prêt-à-porter & sur-mesure pour dame” by Jacqueline Chiappetta like my previous article for “The green fluffy skirt”. There is a full collection of her books I maybe will buy it all! It is easy to use and I discovered I really like to draw what I’m going to sew. It is in French, I don’t know if you can advise me a book in English???
When I knew exactly what I wanted to do I took my measurements. It is really hard to do it alone. 😛 But I made it several times to be sure of these. Then I start to follow the instructions of Mrs. Chiappetta and It was looking good on the paper so I went further.
I choose a ceramic print tecnostretch fabric I thought it could give a nice visual effect for my top and it would make an awesome clothing for mid-season.
And here is the result, I like the effect but I think I have to change the height of the breast darts, this will be for my next reproduction of it. What do you think?
Have a nice week dear readers and don’t hesitate to ask questions or give me advice in comments.
Cheers my Dears!
